This is fast becoming one of the most popular wedding songs of 2016. Great if you want something modern for your first dance.
2. Prince - Diamonds and Pearls

No one sings about love and sex quite like His Purple Highness! 'Diamonds and Pearls' is a fantastic love song. The lyrics say it all: 'If I could I would give you the world, all I can do is just offer you my love.' Sob! If you want to pay tribute to Prince at your wedding, this is the one. First wedding dance nailed.
3. Andy Williams - Can't Take My Eyes Off You

This one will never go out of style. Andy Williams released a cover of the Frankie Valli song in 1968 and his version is still one of the most popular first dance songs after all these years. Timeless.
4. Beyonce - Love on Top

Gotta love a bit of Queen Bey! A great, soulful love song that really kicks it. Definitely one of the top trending wedding songs for 2016.

Everyone loves this song. It's a proper head-nodder and is already set to be one of the top wedding songs of 2016. If you want a hot song for your first dance, 'Can't Feel My Face' is a bold choice. Or you can save it for the reception.
6. David Bowie - Let's Dance
Another great artist sadly taken from us at the start of 2016, David Bowie isn't the first guy you'd think of for a wedding song. But 'Let's Dance' is a great choice for a first dance if you fancy something a little different. It's also funky as all hell. 'If you say run, I'll run with you'.
7. Ed Sheeran - Thinking Out Loud
'And darling I will be loving you 'til we're 70. And baby my heart could still fall as hard at 23' Blub, blub, blub!
8. Al Green - Let's Stay Together
This is popping up on loads of 2016 wedding songs playlists. An oldie but a goodie. Al Green tells it like it is.
9. Take That - Flaws
A right tear jerker! There won't be a dry eye in the house if you have your first dance to this.
10. Luke Bryan - To the Moon and Back
Simple. Beautiful. Especially if you manage to get hold of a decent quality version of his pared-down Facebook Live version.
11. Imperial March from Star Wars
I know a couple who used this to walk into their wedding reception. The groom is the world's biggest Star Wars fan and the bride wanted to surprise him. They were escorted in by a guy in a stormtrooper costume. The guests went wild!
12. Bruno Mars - Marry You
It's fun. It's catchy. It deserves to be on any list of trending wedding songs for 2016.
13. DNCE - Cake By the Ocean
If you want wedding songs for 2016 that are guaranteed to get everyone on the dancefloor, stick 'Cake by the Ocean' on your playlist.
14. Walk the Moon - Shut Up and Dance
A massive hit that'll go down well when everyone's up for some drunken dancing and singing (make that roaring!) along.
15. Pharrell Williams - Happy
Yes, it might make you think of Despicable Me 2 but damn it's catchy! Another feelgood floorfiller for the wedding disco.
16. Jess Glynne - Hold My Hand
The whole dancefloor will erupt when this one comes on and you'll raise the roof trying to hit those top notes! Or shatter the wine glasses. It's all good.
17. King - Years & Years
All together now: 'And oh, oh, oh, I was a king under your con-tro-ooool!'
18. Beastie Boys - Fight for Your Right (To Party)
Ok, so this is a bit of a cheat but we had it at our wedding disco and it was awesome!
19. John Grant - GMF
Looking for alternative trending wedding songs for 2016? You might get into a teensy bit of trouble with this one, as GMF is short for 'Greatest Motherf***er'. John Grant is on the lineup for Glastonbury 2016. The hipsters will absolutely love it, but it's definitely one for the very end when hopefully anyone who might be offended will either be drunk or in bed!
