Yes, ladies its Valentine’s Day, and what we would all love is a weekend away with our loved one. Of course, we would love to go to the big love cities Paris and Rome, but there are some great love cities in the UK as well. Did you know that Chester is actually the original city of love not Paris, Rome or Venice. So why not take a trip away and find the love again in some beautiful cities and hamlets.
It’s always good to have a weekend away to rekindle the romance. Seeing a new city together and making new memories to treasure and ticking another place of the bucket list is always a winner. Experience some new cuisine, taste the local delicatessen, try the local wine or spirits and make it a real weekend to remember. You never know you could find a new favourite drink or meal.
Below are four great places for Romantic Getaways with your partner.
Rome – How could we not have this beautiful Italian city in the list. With so many amazing sights to see you will be stuck for choice, will it be the Colosseum, St. Peter's Basilica. Trevi Fountain, or the Sistine Chapel. We think you should try and fit them all in, but make sure you make time for Pizza, Gelato and Vino! Bellissimo!
Paris – Known as the city of love this really is the perfect romantic getaway. Take your loved one up the Eiffel tower, see the art in the Louvre Museum, you have to see the Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris, and of course the Arc de Triomphe. If you want to bring some fun and show into your weekend, then why not add in a trip to Moulin Rouge! Again, there must be time for a crouch moussier and wine. Magnifique!
Chester – Now found by historians to be the original city of love, Chester is a beautiful place to visit on a romantic getaway. This great northern city has lots to see as well, Chester Cathedral, Chester city walls, Chester Roman Amphitheatre, and of course you could even spend a day at Chester racecourse. Or why not take a visit to Chester Zoo, it’s a great way to spend a day and something different that you wouldn’t normally do together. Perfect!
Edinburgh – The Scottish capital has everything you could need for a romantic getaway, great sights, beautiful restaurants, and drinks galore! Edinburgh has so many things to see Edinburgh Castle, Arthur's Seat, Edinburgh Old Town, and of course the famous Princes Street. Don’t forget you have to try some haggis and Whisky or even maybe a fried mars bar. Bonnie!
